About Me

When I look back at my own writing, what I have saved, the sheer volume reminds me that I have been writing my whole life.  

It has found its way into the world through many formats, diaries, short stories, humour, social media, journalism, scripts, television pilots and more.

My passions can be found in the forefront of every single piece; life experience, horses and true crime.

Zoë grew up in Toronto, Ontario Canada. She now lives in rural Ontario with her husband of more than 30 years, two, almost fully adult kids and the menagerie that is.... our epic family.

BIOGRAPHY 

Zoë’s love of film and writing developed while she grew up behind the scenes, enjoying the thrill of being on set and backstage with her entertainment industry family. She has continued a unique professional career in the entertainment industry for the past 35 years as a manager for not-for- profit theatre, a television producer, development consultant, podcast producer and writer.

In 2016 Zoë had two of her articles featured in Horse Canada Magazine; a story covering the Equus Film Festival  http://bit.ly/HCMEquusFilmFest; and an in-depth piece on the controversial horse carriages of New York and Montreal http://bit.ly/HorseCarriagepiece.

Jessica Fobert and Zoë Carter adopted Encore as part of their television pilot called Free Rein, in which he was rescued from an auction and rehabilitated.

Zoë has dedicated her life and her passion for all animals as an activist working closely with horse, dog and wildlife rescue initiatives in her immediate communities and beyond.  Education promotes change, and I am committed to learning more and doing better for all the creatures we share our planet with.
